Jeff Miller — CEO
A veteran of 15 years in the professional AV industry, Jeff has served as systems designer, account manager, and/or project manager on over 500 professional AV projects, including five with values in excess of $1,000,000. His AV career includes experience at some of the nation’s largest AV integration firms. He has specific expertise in control rooms and surgery rooms, video-conferencing, corporate presentation, high end residential, and large scale projects.

During the past 4 years, he has worked extensively with a Fortune 50 company to help them define and implement audio/visual standards in California. This included being the AV consultant for over 60 design build projects. The loyal clients, architects, and consultants Jeff works with appreciate his extensive experience and commitment to quality work. Since 1990, he has attended more than 50 industry trade shows and technical training workshops and has received numerous industry certifications.

Stanley Stern — President
Stanley is an accomplished entrepreneur. He has founded three companies, taking them from concept to market. The best known, PRN is the world’s largest in-store digital signage network reaching over 250 million viewers per month with targeted, advertiser-supported entertainment on monitors in Wal Mart, Best Buy, Costco, and now Albertsons. The company developed a unique economic strategy to place networked audio/visual displays into large companies.

Mr. Stern was PRN’s founder and the first CEO. After 16 years, the company reached annual sales of over $100M, with universal support from the largest advertisers such as P&G, Sony, Disney, Nabisco and many others. PRN was sold in 2005 to Thomson. Mr. Stern’s has also been an inner-city high school math teacher, coach of Boston University’s Women’s Ski Team, and Executive Director of the Women’s Intercollegiate Ski Conference. He has a Bachelors degree and an MBA from Boston University, and is married with two teenage sons.

Joël Majgier — Vice President of Operations, AIA, CTS
With over a decade of design excellence working for the largest integration firms in the country, Joel has successfully implemented Multi-Media and Telecommunication technologies for an array of customers in markets ranging from corporate, broadcast & streaming environments, to academic and health facilities.

Mr. Majgier has actively complimented his educational background in Architecture and Engineering by joining industry organizations such as ICIA, ABPM, AIA, IFMA. Joël brings a practical design, architecture and engineering capability to Cobalt.

Ellery Peñas — V.P. of Field Engineering, RCDD
Ellery Peñas brings to Cobalt Communications over 12 years of practical experience in designing and building audio/visual systems. In addition to his skills in project management and system design, Ellery is well versed in technologies including streaming video, digital audio transport over Ethernet, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) of audio and IP enabled control systems.

He has designed audio/visual systems and telecommunications cabling infrastructure that incorporate these technologies in imaginative and successful ways for several project categories, including corporate, education, government and mixed-use developments. Prior to joining Cobalt, Ellery worked for one of the nation's largest MEP firms as a Design Engineer in the telecommunications department. He also spent five years as a Design Consultant and Project Manager for one of the nation's largest independent AV, telecommunications, and acoustics consulting firms. Ellery has copious field experience as a technician, project manager and as an engineer.

William MacLeod — V.P. of Design Engineering, CTS
For the last 13 years, William has designed and engineered some of the largest civic, hospitality, government, corporate, educational and commercial projects valued up to $5M. Most recently, he worked as a Senior Design Engineer and prior to that he spent six years as a Design Consultant and Project Manager for one of the nation's largest independent AV, telecommunications, and acoustics consulting firms.

He has unique expertise in the development of detailed construction documents and audio/visual system drawings that compliment architectural design drawings. William has an AA in Applied Science and Electronics Technology from the Heald Institute of Technology and is CTS certified.

Derwin Callen — Senior Account Manager
Derwin comes to Cobalt with more than 10 years of professional AV experience. He has served as account manager for several high profile and complex projects in the Bay Area. He has a loyal following of clients and contractors who rely on him for AV support. After a long career in the consumer electronics business, as a factory direct representative for JBL and the Harman Kardon family of companies, Derwin made the move to Pro AV.

Focusing mainly in the East Bay market, Derwin has had many successful projects with clients ranging from newspaper publishers, medical/nursing, financial, security operations, traffic management, city councils, higher education and high tech companies providing a wide variety of boardroom, conference room, training room and specialty solutions.

Laura Genoway — Office Manager
Laura brings over 13 years of entrepreneurial business experience to the Cobalt team. Having founded and managed 3 small businesses, she knows that our customers are the key to our success. Experienced in the daily operations and financial strategies of small to medium business operations, Laura moved to California 4 years ago to work for a publicly traded company.

With a Bachelors degree in Environmental Design/Architecture from Texas A&M University, she is pleased to contribute her extensive knowledge, experience and practical business skills to the success of Cobalt Communications.

Aleyah Miller — Service Coordinator
Aleyah has spent her career focused on customer service. Her responsibilities as a region manager for a retail chain included supervising all operations, customer service, and personnel decisions.

Aleyah has a singular professional objective – take care of the customer. She was educated at the University of Texas at Austin.

Justin Arthur — Onsite Service Technician
Justin brings eight years of audio-visual service experience to Cobalt. He has been responsible for large A/V conferences in Canada, Las Vegas, Colorado, and Monterey, managing all setup, operations, quality control, and service.

Justin has made AV systems work when they had to. Justin’s customer service currently includes trouble-shooting, repair, training, and preventative maintenance for Cobalt’s largest clients. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and Technology from Cal State Monterey Bay.

Ashley Carrubba — Project Manager
Ashley brings years of experience in media production and project management to Cobalt. Her AV experience was developed in broadcast control rooms and production studios throughout the Bay Area; providing her with a comprehensive understanding of audio-visual needs from a client's perspective.

Ashley has managed a variety of broadcast projects from inception to completion, and was also responsible for customer communications and client management. Ashley graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA.

David Siu — Installation Manager
As Cobalt’s Installation Manager, David is responsible for all Cobalt installations. He trains and manages his installation and service team.

David provides over a decade of experience as a senior Audiovisual installation supervisor, and has worked on some of the largest AV projects. He is an excellent manager, teacher, and has extensive experience with complex system integration.

Leslie Tam — Lead Technician 
Leslie has extensive experience working on some of the most complex audiovisual installations in the country. He brings his meticulous attention to detail on every job.

Leslie’s passion for technology and dedication to project execution is reflected in every one of Cobalt Communication’s systems.

Freddy Li — Technician
Freddy is a skillful technician who regularly combines his construction skills with his technical knowledge.

Freddy provides a broad range of skills to compliment the rest of Cobalt’s team.
